The Whitehouse Gallery is a contemporary art & craft gallery based in the historic artist' town of Kirkcudbright, South West Scotland. Opened in 2004, The Whitehouse Gallery has steadily gained a solid reputation as one of the most popular art galleries in the region, showcasing top quality fine art and applied art & craft from across the UK.

The gallery space is light and airy, with a friendly and inviting atmosphere.   Although The Whitehouse Gallery celebrates local and Scottish art, we also encourage artists from across the UK to exhibit.  The Whitehouse Gallery has five mixed exhibitions over the year, combining up-and-coming talents with more established names.

Besides paintings, The Whitehouse Gallery also exhibits sculpture, ceramics, wood & furniture, jewellery, glass, baskets, silver & metalwork, artist prints, artist books, cards and more. Please use the website to browse through the collection and find out further information about the current exhibition on show, or paintings and applied arts and crafts for sale.

The gallery is closed throughout January and February, although there is usually a member of staff in the gallery during this period who will be happy to help with any queries.

Opening times are Monday-Saturday, 10am-5pm.

Open on Sunday's as advertised.

Throughout the Summer Exhibition we are open 7 days a week, including Sunday from 12-4pm. Dates for this and other exhibitions through the year can be found on our Exhibitions page.

There is a small step up to the gallery, but gallery staff are always available to help anybody gain access with wheelchairs. Once inside, the gallery is wheelchair friendly.
